I'm helping with a film that's looking for independent international artists to feature on their soundtrack specifically in the r&b, hip hop, jazz and/or blues genres with a native twist. Does anyone happen to know a good way of going about getting tour sponsors for a band's U.S. tour? Having a tough time finding a place to start so there is some backing there. Thank you.

Hi Brian. I think it's a good idea for them to have a high quality recorded ep or album to sell if they don't already. Put songs online and then just work as hard as they can to get the most online exposure possible while playing as many shows as possible locally and then expand out a couple hundred mile radious, then 300 miles, ect., ect. Just keep building out and gaining more fans that way and online. The more they can do on their own, the better. Networking with other bands and trying to set up tours together is a good idea. Also...a big thing is keeping expenses low in all they do starting out. Do the most they can while keeping the spending down. If that means doing a lot of shows or some shows acoustic as 1 or 2 people, then that is a good idea too. Hope some of that helps.

Thanks Matt, nice to be involved - I have 2 sons who have an awesome rock band in OZ and they playing around the local scene. I would like to get them greater exposer. Do you have any thoughts and suggestions?
