Burns ‘extensive background in real estate investing has led him to a career as an International speaker, writer and seminar leader. He has been on the stage with the Who’s Who of Real Estate investing. Burns has raised over 7 million dollars for commercial land hard money investing. He has spoken at over one hundred real estate clubs and was an instructor with the Learning Annex for four years. Burns created and ran the largest real estate club in Las Vegas. He has received media coverage from the Wall Street Journal, NPR, USA Today, San Diego Union Tribune, Nevada Business Journal, Inman News, The Learning Annex and SDSU Real Estate publications.
Burns has been deeply involved in web based businesses and the computer industry for the past 15 years. He was involved in the creation and management of MAX PC, MAC Addict and Teveo. Teveo was the first internet based video storage company, which Gene presented to companies worldwide. A pioneer in web based video content storage, Teveo received coverage in such publications as USA Today, Wired and CNET as well as radio and television.
Burns has an impressive history of high tech publishing spanning over ten years. He created and launched several number one computer publications including Infoweek, Windows Magazine, Home PC, Net Guide, Boot and Maximum PC. He has held the positions of Senior District Manager for the launch of Infoweek magazine, Windows Magazine’s Western Regional Sales Manager and the first employee and Associate Producer of Home PC magazine. In each of these positions, Burns has made strides to expand and invigorate the industry through education and outreach in new markets and segments of the population. As Associate Publisher for Home PC magazine, Burns was integral in making it the number one computing magazine amongst home PC consumers.
Gene Burns’ commitment to excellence both professionally and personally has garnered him impressive recognition. He was the back to back Sales Person of the Year for the largest computer publishing company in the U.S. – CMP Publications. Burns received a Presidential Watch for his involvement with the first ever online charity event for the White House. He has served on the board for LA Homeless and has received several charity awards from Catholic Charities.
Burns Graduated from Loyola High School in Los Angeles before obtaining his BA from San Diego State University. Burns also holds a degree from Stanford University in Advanced Publishing.
