Dear Heshima -
I'm sick in the heart to hear about El Yunque. I lived in Puerto Rico for 3 years in the early 1970s and practically live in El Yunque and at Luquillo. I had no idea El Yunque was giving way to the thoughtless works of Man, and yet I should have known. No place is sacred on Earth if it can have a price tag put on it for human greed and gain. And still, knowing this in the head doesn't ease the pain in the heart. El Yunque was one of the most gorgeous places on Earth with tremendous biodiversity. Oh please do come and collaborate with me on projects. I am spending most of my time these days working on campaigns to end bear bile farming at Ursa Freedom Project. I am creating a non-profit organization for UFP and working diligently on our Benefit for the Bears concert series. I would love your gift of music and any other help you could provide. I want to establish a Talent Search on YouTube for Benefit for the Bears but don't have a clue how to go about this. Any ideas?
Forgive me for just now responding to you here. I have been trekking across Central America for 3 months with no access to internet and just landed again near internet in Costa Rica two weeks ago. I am just now crawling my way out of a mountain of emails. But I was thrilled to see your note to me and hope that we can get to know each other through mutual activism. Please come to UFP and join so we can start figuring out next steps.
With a voice sounding out loudly ... Onward!
