About Ron Preston
Ron Preston is a singer, songwriter, award winning actor, musician and chart topping recording artist. A born performer, Ron lives to entertain.
Born and raised in the American Midwest, Ron struck out for the big city lights of New York soon after graduating from high school. Ron worked off Broadway as an actor, played in a punk rock outfit in the then burgeoning movement and hung with the Not Ready for Prime Time Players. Heady times for the young upstart from the sticks.
Ron moved to the left coast in the early 80's and began acting in film and television, appearing with such stalwarts as Charles Bronson and Chuck Norris. Ron also dabbled in film scoring and screenwriting. Ron fronted a series of successful blues and rock groups throughout the 80's but hit his stride as singer, songwriter and guitarist for perennial L.A. favorite The Blame.
Throughout the new millenium Ron has continued to perform as a solo artist and also with the Jam Daddies, Midlife Crisis, Daisy Cutters and Cleverly Brothers. Throughout his storied career Ron has graced many of the world's legendary venues. Ron has appeared with Guns N' Roses, Mark Knopfler, Brian Setzer, the Stray Cats, Monkees, Paul McCartney, Jeff Beck, John Mellencamp, Eric Burdon, the Cult, the Cure, Warrant, Yes, STP, Bobby Womack, Rolling Thunder and many, many other luminaries of the music and film world. Ron has directly or indirectly influenced Sheryl Crow, Collective Soul, Counting Crows and many others.
Ron currently resides in the Ozarks with his family and remains active in both the local film and music scenes.
