“Winter’s Rite” Hidden Text
Several times since “Winter’s Rite” has been published fans have contacted me about the “hidden messages” within in. I’ve also heard things through the proverbial grapevine that give the impression that there’s a growing number of people discussing these things, finding “messages” and, as one said, “crossword puzzle clues” obscured in the book’s text. I want to hear from anyone who’s found anything along…

IT'S TIME TO BEGIN AGAIN
Once at the close of every year we come to a stop.
It is the end of another year and each New Year offers a fresh start.
We like to plan a bit about what we shall do with these days to come.
We would like to peek into the future to see what those days will bring,
but that is not possible.
We can plan, and we can hope, but we cannot know. We must live a minute at a time as it comes to us, and this makes things easier.
The idea of beginning anew, leaving…

Thailand bans 'immoral' transgender film
Thailand's National Film Board has rejected a movie about a transgender father struggling to raise two children, a ban that the director says highlights the conservative side of Thai society despite its freewheeling reputation.
The board ruled this week that the film, "Insects in the Backyard," cannot not be shown in Thailand because it is immoral and pornographic.
Director Tanwarin Sukkhapisit told The Associated Press on Friday that the scenes deemed offensive by the board…

Real world to collide with heroes & villains
The real world is intruding in a real way for the heroes — and villains — of the Marvel universe.
The publisher — whose characters range from the wall-crawler Spider-Man to mutant outcasts X-Men — said Tuesday that the fear, uncertainty and overarching anxiety that has gripped today's world will play havoc with its fictional heroes next spring as it embarks on "Fear Itself," a seven-issue limited series that will reach across numerous titles and leave its characters scarred but…

Sheriff's detectives say they are investigating the reported theft of $192,000 in jewelry and luggage from Jermaine Jackson.
Michael's Jackson's older brother reported the theft of watches, rings and other jewelry after returning to Southern California from a vacation in mid-September.
Detectives say there are no suspects and no clear leads.

NBC's late-night fiasco tops 2010's stories
What began as a grand, highly promoted experiment in late-night, ended in a fiasco that made NBC a laughing stock and captivated the country.
In January 2010, NBC sought to displace its newly crowned "Tonight Show" host, Conan O'Brien, by restoring Jay Leno to 11:35 p.m. O'Brien, however, didn't go for the 30 minute shift, and the fallout made for one of the most public debacles in network history.
Allegiances were drawn, with many supporting "Team CoCo." In the end, O'Brien…

I filmed a new tv show called "Invocation" which is a takeoff from the movie "Invocation" I was in a year and a half ago resuming my role of Joyce McCann, a real estate agent attempting to rent a haunted house. This character is single and successful and very career oriented. I filmed yesterday in Half Moon Bay and it went well. This episode will be playing on a cable tv station in Arizona, with California tv stations to follow as well as a web series. I will keep everyone posted

Hulk Hogan ties the knot in private Fla. ceremony
Hulk Hogan has tied the knot for a second time.
His attorney told The Associated Press Wednesday that the celebrity wrestler and Jennifer McDaniel were married at Hogan's Clearwater Beach home Tuesday during a small, private ceremony. Hogan's children from his previous marriage, Brooke and Nick, were both there.
Attorney David Houston says the couple wanted to keep the ceremony as quiet as possible after filing for a marriage license in Pinellas County in November. Houston says…

2nd season of Newark series to premier on Sundance
Mayor Cory Booker's oratory was in full flight as he exhorted the police academy's graduating class earlier this year, in the kind of moment when no obstacle seems too tall.
"We decided to starve the budgets of other city departments to make this class possible," Booker assures the group.
"Are you ready to serve?" he thunders.
"Sir, yes sir!" the class shouts back.…

Beware..!!..The Controverial Dangers We All Face In The Film and Entertainment Industry
Having spent my entire life since very early childhood, in and around the entertainment world of film, theater, music, and art, it has been a wonderful and joyous experience for the most part.
I have had the great blessing of getting to know some really fabulous people in this business, on stage and off, in front of and behind the cameras and the scenes.
I count my blessings every day, and am very grateful for where I am today in my career. My reputation, my friends, my…

Saxophonist James Moody dies of pancreatic cancer
Jazz saxophonist James Moody is best known for his 1949 "Moody's Mood for Love," but when he recorded the hit that eventually was elected into the Grammy Awards' Hall of Fame, he said, he was just "trying to find the right notes."
"People later said to me: 'You must have been very inspired when you recorded that.' And I said: 'Yeah I was inspired to find the right notes!'" Moody told the San Diego Union-Tribune in February.
The song later was recorded by Aretha Franklin, Van…

When Ron Isley talks about the three years he spent in prison for tax evasion, there's no bitterness or anger in his voice: At times, there almost seems to be a bit of nostalgia.
"I made a lot of friends. I was treated like a king. I had all of the respect that one would want. And it's a part of that that I miss — when I say I miss, I miss the people that I met," said the 69-year-old with the golden tenor.
"When I first went in there, there were 300 people there and those 300…

Actor Snipes begins serving sentence at Pa. prison
Actor Wesley Snipes has arrived at a federal prison in Pennsylvania to begin serving a three-year sentence for failure to file income tax returns.
Federal Prisons spokesman Ed Ross says Snipes entered the Federal Correctional Institution McKean on Thursday morning. He had been ordered to arrive by noon.
The minimum security prison camp in the northwestern Pennsylvania town of Lewis Run is worlds away from the harsh prison fortresses depicted in the Snipes' films "Undisputed"…
